How do I book a session?

You can book a session by either filling out this Contact Form, calling (510) 506-7696 or emailing us at We will walk you through the booking process.

What are your hours?

We are open 7 days a week. Sessions are typically booked between 10 am - 10 pm. However, we accommodate our artists and can arrange sessions outside of our regular hours. If you’d like to see studio availability, email and we can provide you with current openings.

Do you offer same-day studio bookings?

Unfortunately during this time we require at least 48 hours in advance to book a studio session.

Can I tour the studio first?

Of course. Contact us to schedule a free studio tour and consultation, no strings attached.

What are your rates?

We do not publicly advertise our rates as they vary from region to region. Schedule a free strategy call today and we will provide a quote based on your location, studio needs, and situation!

What is your deposit policy?

We require a deposit 72 hours prior to your session that is equal to the value of one studio hour. Once we receive a deposit, we will send you a booking confirmation. For larger projects such as multi-song projects or studio lockouts we require equal to 50% of the value of studio time or the full amount. 

What is your cancellation policy?

If a client wishes to cancel, postpone, or reschedule they must to do so before the deposit due date. Please note deposits are unfortunately forfeited in instances of last-minute cancellations or no-shows.

Do you accept cash?

We accommodate cash payments. Digital payments are preferred as we send a PayPal invoice at the end of your session, where you can pay via Credit Card or Debit Card.

Do you offer discounts?

Join our mailing list to receive promotions throughout the calendar year. If you have special budgeting needs, constraints, are looking for bulk deals or studio day rates please contact us. We're happy to discuss options with you.

Can I book studio time as a gift?

Yes! It's actually quite common for clients to gift studio time for a friend or loved one. Contact us and we'd love to help make your studio gift intentions a reality!


Can I bring friends to my session?

Yes! Bring all the love and support you need. Please be advised that your focus or creativity may be disrupted with the number of guests you invite. 

Do I own the rights to my music after the work is completed?

YES. Prolific Sound Solutions does not own the rights to any of the works created or edited with clients. It's important to note that PSS will not take credit for the art you create.

What happens to my files after work is completed?

We keep all of our completed client files for archival purposes only. While we do our best to archive EVERY session, we cannot guarantee storage of your files. Ultimately, it is the client’s responsibility to safely store their work. We delete client files for privacy concerns or upon request.

Is there a piano or midi keyboard to use?

We have access to a Steinway classical piano and a number of different midi keyboards and controllers including: Roland RD-700 digital stage piano; Minimoog Model D; Akai MPK 225.

Is the Steinway regularly tuned?

The piano is constantly tuned for sessions as requested by other clients. However, with regular use we cannot guarantee that the piano will be perfectly in tune without arranging a tuning beforehand.  We are happy to tune the piano at any time during the session for an additional cost of $175. 

Can you make a radio or performance version of my song?

Yes! We perform file transfers, radio edits, performance mixes, vocal stems, and instrumentals at the client’s request. Hourly rate applies.

Do you offer remote services or consultations?

YES! Even though we are located in the San Francisco Bay Area, we work with clients globally. We provide live online remote collaboration services such as recording and mixing in real-time. As well as client-unattended studio services for production, mixing and mastering. Please note for online remote recordings and mixes, we highly recommend a wired internet connection with at least 10 MB per second upload/download speed.

Do you make beats or offer production services?

Can you find studio musicians that I can collaborate with?

Yes! We have a mix of in-house producers as well an existing network of studio musicians and producers that we regularly work with. We can accommodate any type of instrument or musician request.

Do you work on anything besides music?

We proudly offer a wide range of audio-focused services including podcasting, audiobooks, film/tv post-production, and audio event/live-sound services.

What kind of music do you typically work on?

As audio engineers, we pride ourselves on our diverse musical skills. We work with everything from R&B, hip-hop, rock, jazz, country, folk, dance, pop, electronic/dub, orchestral, opera, mariachi, Afro-punk… you name it, we’ve worked on it!
